Spring Fashion

I love spring...it's my favourite fashion season. Fall has nice wools and subdued colours, but while the greys suit me some of the browns and rusts do not. I also have to bundle up more than I'd like to. Winter I always feel like I have to layer to the point of looking like I'm wearing a puff suit. Summer is wonderful and I like heat, but it's hard to be fashionable when it's 38*C outside; you pretty much just want to wear a silk or cotton sundress and absolutely nothing else. Spring is a nice happy medium though. It's warmer than fall and you can wear a little more than summer. There are all sorts of cute, light jackets you can pair with things and you can choose a skirt or pants. Also, I like the colours for me a lot better...I really look best in pinks, blues and summer whites!
Summer is by far my favourite season. When it comes to weather, the hotter the better (at least for me). But Spring fashion beats Summer clothing!

Other than loving the weather, I've been pretty busy. My exams are in less than a month....eep!

I don't wear a B cup

Warning: Guys, as fascinating as this title might sound, this is more a post for the ladies.

Not that there's anything wrong with wearing a B cup (it's just a part of a measurement), I just am kind of sick of having it come under question. I used to work at Agent Provocateur. I also designed lingerie for a while. I KNOW how bras fit. The letter in a bra size itself is NOT a specific measurement. It's not A=xs, B=s, C=m and D=l. There's a reason there's a combination of the numbers and letters and it has to do with the ratio of your rib cage vs the measurement of your actual breasts. You can be a perfectly average sized women and even have quite a slight figure and still wear a 32 C. Not to mention that shape goes into it as well...if your breasts are wider, you're NOT going to be comfortable wearing a 32 A, and if you went up a band size, it will cause the band to ride up, which is also not comfortable.

Most women wear the wrong bra size...and I think some of this misinformation really doesn't help.

Sorry if that was all graphic, I'm just big on bra fitting because a) I think we'd all be more comfy if we wore the right bra size, and b) clothes look better if your band isn't riding up (which actually causes "back fat" more than it being too tight!) I'd say more women wear the wrong band size than anything. You wouldn't believe how often a super slim girl would come into AP looking for a 34 or even 36 band, and then when given a 32 C instead of a 36 A, be astounded at how much better it fit (the actual cups on those respective sizes are the same size...it's the band that differs!)

Remember ladies, a bra size is just a number (and letter)...it doesn't matter if you're an 36 A or a 34 D....just get fitted and get the right size!

Stuff and more Stuff

I'm so creative with titles, no?

I feel like I've been run over by a train today. I'm so sleepy after my unrelaxing weekend of studying for my German exam and trying to run errands. But the good news is that on Friday I got to meet with the builders of my apartment, and for the first time ever I was able to walk up and actually SEE the space that will be my new home in 5 months. It's larger than I thought, except for the living room, which feels a little bit smaller somehow, even though it is 25 m2. I got to pick where all the electric sockets are going. I wanted lots of them, as this is the 21st century and I run a million devices and appliances at a time. I'm actually surprised I haven't started a fire in my current (unrennovated) flat. I want to move in now. The roof terrace would come in handy in these months more than in the winter!

I'm having a lot of design inspiration lately. I haven't designed anything in almost a year. I have no idea why but 2007 was kind of a sleeper for me. I didn't design anything, write anything or do anything really. I cammed and I slept a lot. I need to make myself a new dress form. My old one is from the end of 2005, and no longer fits my proportions. I'll post pics of my creations as I make them! I have a feeling I'm going to be making a lot of cocktail dresses that I'll never wear.
